Do you know what 500 pounds of food looks like? I don’t, but two Ohio Lottery employees do.
James Carothers with Cash Explosion and Community Outreach Coordinator Karen Russo delivered 500 pounds of food last month to the Cleveland Foodbank, one of Ohio’s 12 regional foodbanks that comprise the Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks, and it’s just the kickoff!

James Carothers with Cash Explosion stands proudly by the scale weighing the food donated by generous Cash Explosion fans.
Throughout the month of November, Cash Explosion fans brought canned and non-perishable foods to the show tapings, and in exchange they got extra chances for fun and prizes during the show. Last year Cash Explosion fans were very generous, donating over two tons of food to foodbanks all across Ohio! The food drive runs through May of 2012.
The Ohio Association of Second Harvest Foodbanks, Ohio’s largest charitable response to hunger, represents Ohio’s 12 Feeding America Foodbanks and over 3,300 member charities including food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters.
You can help by bringing non-perishable goods to a Cash Explosion taping! If you would like to attend a taping in the Columbus area, please call the Game Show Bureau at 1-800-686-4208, option #5, or the direct number at (216) 774-5687 for more information.
