Ships, tall and otherwise

Perhaps you caught up with us out at the Tall Ships event last weekend at the Port of Cleveland. Perhaps you entered our “Build-a-Boat” contest – if you did, congrats! Wow, these entries are very impressive. The idea was to build a boat using non-winning Ohio Lottery instant tickets. Some of you just built a boat. Some of you built massive ships, complete with anchors and deck hands and even spare boxes of food on deck. The nautical steering wheels are detailed and intricate.

They’re paper, but these ships are awesome, and some of them look downright sea-worthy. Check ’em out:

Our winner is Ed Kovalik of Sheffield. Ed wins a 2010 VX Sport Yamaha Waverunner and a trailer valued at $8,500 and $100 worth of Ohio Lottery instant tickets. Here’s Ed with his wife, son and the winning entry:

Our second-place prize is a family four-pack of tickets to Wildwater Kingdom Cedar Point and $100 worth of Ohio Lottery instant tickets and that went to David Dragus of Lake Milton. Third place was good for $100 worth of Ohio Lottery instant tickets, which goes to Ralph Lomn of Brook Park. Thanks for participating, guys, and thanks to Cleveland Rotary Centennial Celebration, LLC for providing our prizes as part of the Lottery’s sponsorship.
