School of the Year

We love our Partners in Education program. We love honoring Academic All Stars and Teachers of the Month. We especially love honoring our School of the Year. Last year’s School of the Year was North Ridgeville High School, and because the schedule worked best to have the celebratory assembly at the beginning of this year, the time has come! On Monday, we’ll be at North Ridgeville High to show the students a good time and celebrate the academic achievements that led to the school’s being drawn as School of the Year.

Here’s how it works: every month during the school year, the Lottery honors a teacher and a student from each of the nine regions, based on nominations received during the month. At the end of the year, schools get entered into the School of the Year drawing once for every nomination. North Ridgeville teachers and students were nominated 39 times last year and – presto! – that translated into School of the Year. On Monday, several Ohio Lottery representatives, local and state dignitaries, professional sports team mascots and the Cleveland Cavaliers Scream Team will be on hand to help the Rangers celebrate. Cash Explosion host David McCreary, also an accomplished magician, will host. We are really looking forward to it.

Stay tuned. I’ll tell you all about it next week.
