Wrapping up the year as the last Ohio Lottery Retailer-of-the-Week is Pauken Wine & Liquor. At 221 Golden Gate SC in Maumee, Laura Mulkey owns the business with Brad Robertson and says she is proud to end the year on a positive note of recognition. What contributes to that positivity is how the business promotes the Ohio Lottery. They allow their customers to go fishing year round. It is a part of the second–chance drawing that takes place monthly. Customers enter non-winning tickets in the store’s fish tank for a chance to win $20 in cash. The tank is located in the dedicated lottery play area.
Further promoting the Lottery, Mulkey she says she pays all winning tickets and her customers do not have to fill out bet slips. She says employees stay up to date on all things lottery. Pauken Wine and Liquor posts all new information around their Lottery terminal and uses the lighted jackpot sign.
“The business has fantastic customer service and is a great agent to service,” says sales rep Heather Ludwig.
Mulkey advises new retailers to make lottery playing and game selection as convenient as possible for players. The business carries 29 instant games and has a weekly sales average of $8,882 for all games.
