Quaker City – When you’ve been selling Lottery tickets for 28 years, you know what it takes to be a successful lottery retailer. John and Norma Longinie own Genie Management LLC, which is a full service convenience store just off I-70. The Ohio Lottery is pleased to recognize this agent as Retailer-of-the-Week for the week of October 19, 2015. Genie Management’s location at 65919 Batesville Road is just off the highway, so they get travelers from all over the state. But location is not the only draw; it is their daily business philosophy to always treat your customer like you want to be treated. Store manager Gary Carpenter says providing good customer service keeps customers coming back.
The business promotes lottery with signs throughout the store, including a neon sign in the front window that advertises Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots. There is also an area with tables for scratching instant games. And if that doesn’t draw customers, the pizza and ice cream shop serving delicious food helps. Customers can play instant games while eating, Carpenter says. Our regular players have fun playing games and though they want to win, scratching is great entertainment.
Word of mouth goes a long way too. When employees notice a customer is getting a dollar in change, they make a point to ask if they’d like to use it on a lottery ticket. With 30 instant games and friendly customer service, players are sure to come back.
Each week, the Ohio Lottery recognizes one outstanding retail partner who offers courteous service and sales enthusiasm. Retailer-of-the-Week is chosen based on recommendations from the store’s sales representative and regional sales office. Genie Management will be recognized on Cash Explosion® on October 24, 2015.
Guernsey County residents can tune into Cash Explosion® on their local cable station. The Cash Explosion show is carried on 13 stations across the state every Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Congratulations Genie Management!
