Cincinnati-The staff at 410 Walnut Street in Cincinnati has positive attitudes, are respectful of customers , courteous and helpful. It’s an old-fashioned pipe and cigar shop that has built the business on great customer service and the Ohio Lottery is pleased to recognize Straus Tobacconist as Retailer-of-the-Week for the week of December 7, 2015.
James Clark owns the business and has been a lottery agent for 30 years. With all of that experience under his belt, he says that he has built his business on good service and courtesy. Lottery sales representative Doug Schoensiegel says he recommended Straus because the customer service is top-notch, and the staff keeps a good mix of games. And while the business carries only eight instant games in the mix, those eight games help Straus maintain a weekly sales average of $4,165.
Clark adds that the lottery terminal is front and center, one of the first things that customers see coming into the store. The business sold a $250,000 Mega Millions winner and a $200,000 Trump Card instant winner. Clark says everyone likes to win and selling winning tickets brings in more players.
Each week, the Ohio Lottery recognizes one outstanding retail partner who offers courteous service and sales enthusiasm. Retailer-of-the-Week is chosen based on recommendations from the store’s sales representative and regional sales office. Straus Tobacconist will be recognized on Cash Explosion® on December 12, 2015.
