Helping the Hungry

Ohio Lottery Community Outreach Coordinator Karen Russo, Cleveland Food Bank Executive Director Kristin Warzocha and Cash Explosion Producer JC Carothers.

Imagine not knowing where your next meal is coming from. It’s a struggle that 1 in 6 Ohioans faces. For children, that number is more dismal as 1 in 4 children are at risk of going hungry.

Every year the Cash Explosion Show does its part to try and feed the hungry through the Facing Hunger campaign. It works because of the generosity of our Cash Explosion Show fans, and they’ve given in great number this year. We were able to deliver 2,150 pounds of non-perishable food to the Cleveland Food Bank. That’s over a ton of food! The Cash Explosion Facing Hunger Campaign has donated more than 10 tons of food to food banks throughout Ohio thanks to the generous audience members who have donated food for this campaign since its inception in 2010.

Harvest for Hunger is an annual awareness campaign aimed at fighting hunger in 21 of Ohio’s counties. It’s a joint effort of the Akron-Canton Regional Food Bank, Greater Cleveland Food Bank, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio.IMG_8988

For each dollar, the Food Bank can provide four nutritious meals to those struggling with hunger.  $1 = 4meals. Click here for more information about Harvest for Hunger and how you can help.

Thank you to our employees and our Cash Explosion fans for their support of this worthy cause!
