SALEM – For three years Mr. and Mrs. Rob Murphy have owned the country store at 11999 Stratton Road in Salem. Since taking over the business, they have added a new 50 spot instant ticket counter and have increased their on-line sales by promoting games that customers may not know about. The Ohio Lottery is pleased to recognizeRobert’s Country Store as Retailer-of-the-Week for the week of May 9, 2016.
“Our employees love coming to work and it shows. They treat customers like family and friends,” says manager Jackie Bricker, “We encourage them to play and they like that we display winning tickets. When they see winners displayed, they try playing a game that they would not normally play, hoping to become a winner. Our business is hometown local fun Start out small, see what your customers like to play and then build on that, but always carry the online games.”
Lottery sales representative Vinny Copploe says the employees are pro-lottery and fun to work with. He says they always suggest additional lottery games and put new games out on the first day. They eliminate slow rollers as they see a reduction on a game.
Robert’s Country Store has a dedicated lottery area, an outside sign and carries 51 instant games. The weekly sales average is $9,165 for instant and on-line games. Robert’s Country Store will be recognized on Cash Explosion®, the Ohio Lottery’s TV game show, on May 14.
Mahoning County residents can tune into Cash Explosion® on WFMJ NBC-Channel 21 in Youngstown. The Cash Explosion show is carried on 13 stations across the state every Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
