BK Beverage is 7-11-2016 Retailer-of-the-Week


SALINEVILLE, OH –Rebecca Melhorn owns the business at 42 W. Main Street in Salineville. BK Beverage is unique in that it sells hot food, gasoline, liquor, beer and of course, Lottery. The Ohio Lottery is pleased to recognize BK Beverage as Retailer-of-the-Week for the week of July 11, 2016.

They‘ve been selling Lottery for 26 years and have seen how selling lottery impacts their customers. It brings an instant smile to faces and we treat our lottery customers just like any other customer, says Melhorn.

“We have a dedicated area for players and we conduct second-chance drawings. We make sure that we have the games that our customers want to scratch and they are activated as soon as they come in,” she said.

“We cash as may tickets as we can because we know the money will come back 75 percent of the time. We hang winning ticket s to promote sales and we will ask for the sale because all they can say to the question is no.”

Lottery sales representative Vince Pitoscia says the Beverage embraces promotions and big jackpots; their bins are always full. BK Beverages carries 49 instant games over the counter and their weekly sales average $5,674 for instant and on-line games.

BK Beverage will be recognized on Cash Explosion®, the Ohio Lottery’s TV game show, on July 16. Jefferson County residents can tune into Cash Explosion® on WFMJ NBC Channel 21 in Youngstown. The Cash Explosion show is carried on 13 stations across the state every Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
