The Ohio Lottery is pleased to recognize Gateway Newstands and owners Ashwin, Mahish and Swati Patel as Retailer-of-the-Week for the week of July 25, 2016.
Gateway Newstands has sold Ohio Lottery products for the past 15 years building the business on honesty, good customer service and attention to detail. Personality is the driving force to their business success because the Patels know that great customer service promotes business.
Gateway Newstands has a dedicated play area, updated information, current rules and jackpots on display. One employee is assigned to the lottery terminal during the day. When there is a rush, there is a back-up employee available. Employees are approachable and helpful to all customers.
Patrons who win come back to play more and end up becoming regulars because winning motivates them to spend more. The Patels advise new and upcoming retailers to have the basics, have the supplies, and use the training mode on the terminal to practice when possible.
Lottery sales representative James Torain says Gateway Newstands provides great customer service and has many years of experience and knowledge of lottery products that leads to great customer service. They carry 58 instants with a weekly selling average of $24,500 for instant and online games.
Gateway Newstands will be recognized on Cash Explosion®, the Ohio Lottery’s TV game show, on July 30. Cuyahoga County residents can tune into Cash Explosion® on WEWS ABC Channel 5 in Cleveland. The Cash Explosion show is carried on 13 stations across the state every Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
