Today’s Wednesday winners have great stories that go along with their wins. A Montgomery County resident knew he would win the Lottery… eventually. James Riddle has been playing Lottery for 30 years. He said it was not if he won, but when he won.
Riddle knew it was going to happen.
Riddle won $3 million in the July 26, 2016 Mega Millions drawing. He matched all five numbers without the megaball, but said yes to the Megaplier, and that tripled his $1 million win. He plans on taking Tina, his wife of 37 years, to the Florida Keys and says he’s going to start enjoying life. The father and grandfather of two said he and Tina never had the chance to take a honeymoon.
Kroger’s in Vandalia receives a $1,000 agent bonus for selling a second tier winning ticket.
Chris Crosby of Van Wert took a handful of quarters and won a fist full of dollars. He used the quarters to make a Rolling Cash 5 purchase. He won $182,000 on July 24. Crosby plans on taking mom on a hot-air balloon ride. Convenience Store in Van Wert receives a $500 bonus for selling a winning ticket.
Susan L Funk of Medina is Trustee of the Lucky Duckling Trust. She claimed a 40th Anniversary Millions instant ticket on behalf of the winner. The winner of the ticket chose the cash option; so, the Trust receives $355,000 after mandatory federal and state taxes totaling 29 percent.
Dennis Garett of Gallipolis won $20,000 on Monopoly Millionaire’s Club. For six years, he has rewarded himself by buying a Lottery ticket. It paid off when he won $20,000 on Monopoly Millionaire’s Club. He plans on doing some home repair. He purchased the winner from Quick Stop in Jackson.
Shirley Wright of Sciotoville won $10,000 on Ruby Red 7’s.
Laura Speer of Milan won $5,500 on Monopoly Millionaire’s Club.
Marvin Walters of Columbus was one of the 19 finalist in the Fun 5’s final drawing. He won $100,000 in the top prize drawing held 7/14/16 at Lottery Central. He purchased his qualifying ticket on 9/3/2014 from Speedway. Located at 3233 Refugee Road in Columbus, Speedway receives a $10,000 bonus for selling a qualifying winning ticket. Walters just bought a new trailer and plans on paying it off along with his new car loan.
Barbara Valinsky of Youngstown is the final top prize winner of $200,000 in the Extreme Cash Double Play drawing. One of 22 semi-finalist, she purchased her winning ticket on 4/28/14 from Dhillon Sun Merchant. Located at 3605 Mahoning Avenue in Youngstown, the retailer receives a $2,000 agent bonus for selling the winning ticket. Barbara plans on getting a new roof for her home and squeezing in a vacation.
