Giving back feels good, and that’s why the Ohio Lottery continues to donate to Stuff the Bus.
On July 30th, Cleveland’s Fox 8 held its 10th annual Stuff the Bus event. All day long, cars pulled up with loads of school supplies to put in the buses and donate to Cleveland Kids in Need. A total of 12 buses were filled with school supplies, which will benefit over 150,000 students in Cuyahoga County.
Every year, the Ohio Lottery works to raise money to buy school supplies and stuff these buses. This year, Lottery employees donated more than $1,200 over the course of eight weeks. Last month, Sandy Lesko Mounts, Lottery Deputy Director of Marketing Communications, took the school supplies purchased with Lottery employee donations out to Fox 8 and helped stuff the bus!
After the buses are filled, the school supplies are transferred to the Cleveland Kids in Need warehouse. Teachers from qualifying schools in Cuyahoga County can then shop in the warehouse and get the needed supplies for their classrooms, for free.
Cleveland Kids in Need is a Cleveland based nonprofit dedicated to preparing every child to learn and succeed. If you’d like to find out more about Cleveland Kids in Need, visit clevelandkidsinneed.org.
