SHELBY, OH – They started with instants and progressed to a Lottery machine, and today Shelby Carryout has been selling Lottery to a dedicated group of people for over 20 years. Since 1985 they have kept things simple, building trusting relationships with regular customers who frequent the business at 116 N. Gamble Street in Shelby. The Ohio Lottery is pleased to recognize Shelby Carryout as Retailer-of-the-Week for the week of November 21, 2016.
David Martinez owns the business. He promotes the Lottery by having second chance drawings and raffles. Employees suggest games and always keep the customer informed on anything new, including policies. He says his success as a retailer includes patience and being pleasant.
Lottery sales representative Jennifer Madison notes that Shelby Carryout is a well-trained retailer. They make sure new games are activated in a timely manner and they will help customers with any Lottery needs, making sure they understand the games.
Manager Wanda Robinson says honesty is important. If a customer wants to know what’s selling or a game that is hot, they will let them know when and where it hit. The business carries 35 games and has a weekly selling average of $5,046.
Shelby Carryout will be recognized on Cash Explosion®, the Ohio Lottery’s TV game show, on November 19, 2016. Richland County residents can tune into Cash Explosion® on WEWS ABC Channel 5 in Cleveland. The Cash Explosion show is carried on 13 stations across the state every Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
