AKRON – When you’ve been a retailer for 17 years you learn patience. Bassam Abed owns Five Corner Deli at 500 Fouse Avenue in Akron, and that is how he built his business, by being patient. The Ohio Lottery is pleased to recognize Five Corner Deli as Retailer-of-the-Week for the week of March 13, 2017.
When you play the lottery games yourself, you understand them. It’s pretty easy to promote and talk about them with confidence and enthusiasm explaining to your customers until they fully understand how instant and on-line games are played. Describing the Lottery as exciting Abed said he knows the games his customers like to play and how they like to play them. He says his customers are like family. Having the Lottery and the possibility of winning brings at least 20 percent of the business to his location, he said.
“Individually, I know what my customers like to play, and winning customers spend extra money in the store and continue to come back day after day,” he said.
He is an owner that always promotes lottery and is willing to help in any way that he can, says Mike Nicodemo, his Lottery sales representative. Five Corner Deli carries 38 instant tickets with a weekly sales average of $12,704 for instant and online games.
Five Corner Deli will be recognized on Cash Explosion®, the Ohio Lottery’s TV game show, on March 18. Summit County residents can tune into Cash Explosion® on WEWS ABC-Channel 5 in Cleveland. The Cash Explosion show is carried on 13 stations across the state every Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Congratulations Five Corner Deli!
