Tony’s 76 has spent eighteen years as an Ohio Lottery retailer. The store has gained a Lottery education over the years and remains open to new ideas. Employee devotion to progress and great customer service is why Tony’s 76 is being recognized as the Ohio Lottery Retailer of the Week.
Cashiers at Tony’s 76 are courteous and know most of their customers on a first name basis. After attending an Ohio Lottery seminar on ways to promote Lottery games and encourage sales, store owner Tony Ray Martin decided to add more space to the store. The extension provided more room for outside signage and a larger space to display more instant tickets.
Martin is always open-minded to suggestions to promote Lottery growth. He agreed to a Lottery makeover and the sales results were staggering. The dedicated Lottery play area where their Lottery customers can scratch and win is also an essential piece to the store’s Lottery promotion. The newest games are always activated and ready to be sold to get Lottery customers excited to buy more.
To be a successful Lottery retailer, store owner Tony Martin offers this advice; “Let the Ohio Lottery give you a merchandising makeover and provide a place where your customers can scratch off instant Lottery tickets.”
Tony’s 76 averages $5,606 in weekly sales for both instant and on-line games and carries 41 instant tickets from over the counter.
Each week, the Ohio Lottery recognizes one outstanding retail partner who offers courteous service and sales enthusiasm. Retailer-of-the-Week is chosen based on recommendations from the store’s sales representative and regional sales office staff. Tony’s 76 will be recognized on Cash Explosion® on Saturday, June 9.
Tuscarawas County residents can tune into Cash Explosion® on WKYC TV 3 in Cleveland. The Cash Explosion show is carried on 10 stations across the state every Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
